Another successful Dream It Be It program was completed spring of 2016 at Rosemary Anderson High School. Thanks to Connie Philibert a DIBI PowerPoint presentation was completed to show the power of this program.
The completion of the first Dream It Be It program at Rosemary Anderson High School was celebrated Thursday, December 3rd.Each of the students who attended was congratulated with a certificate and a Dream It Be It journal. Special guests included SI District Director, Dawn Christiansen Cuellar, new SIG member and past award winner, Sandra Casillas, and SIG President Pam Arvidson. Each took a minute to thank Rosemary Anderson High School, the Dream It Be It committee and most importantly, the Dream It Be It students.
I would like to give very special thanks to the Dream It Be It committee. Co-chair, Carol Nielsen, Monica Weitzel, Renee Laborde, Patricia Smith, Naomi Wolfe, Connie Philibert and Susan Spencer. Each one has contributed to the first Dream It Be It program’s success in many ways. Without their time, talents and love of what they were doing, we would not have earned the trust from and appreciation of what the program gave to each of the girls.
This past year of planning and executing the program has been personally rewarding for all of us and we hope that there are more SIG members who will want to be involved in the future. (Written by Chair, Cathy Anderson)
Dream It Be It – Highlights from August 28th Practice Day
Friday, August 28, 2015 Soroptimist International of Gresham (SIG), Oregon’s Dream It Be it first practice day workshop was a big success. The SIG Dream It Be It committee learned many things which will help in facilitating a 7 week program at Rosemary Anderson High School in Portland, Oregon this month. All 7 modules were presented by Dream It Be It committee members and the 6 volunteer “students” gave feedback on how the program could be improved. The majority of committee members and “students” agreed that the 1 module per week sessions will be much better than doing all of them in one day!
Many thanks to the very dedicated and hard-working SIG Dream It Be It committee and to SIG president, Pam Arvidson for donating her company’s space, food and beverages for the event.
